Do you have a self care routine that you swear by? I go through different beauty routines every once in a while or stop all together and do absolutely nothing. I like no fuss products and take a less is more approach to skin care routines. I love finding products that get the job done the first time and save me time rather than add to the struggle. Read along as I share my review of the Aztec Secret Indian Healing Clay Face Mask and see if this mask delivered results and can actually save you time in your beauty routine.

What’s the 411?
This Aztec clay mask is in a dry fine powder form where you mix equals parts liquid and powder to make a paste. My experience is you need only 5ml or relative to one teaspoon of powder to liquid ratio.
Through my experience and reading other user reviews, I would mention to not leave this mask on for longer than the recommended time, and use the instructions on packaging. This is because the mask can be very drying (it’s literally sucking the gunk out of your face) and can lead to redness after.
I have sensitive/oily skin and I removed the mask before the recommended time, so maybe 10-15 minutes max, and the mask was not completely dry and cracked. I also don’t really notice the pulsating sensation every use that other users describe.
My thoughts on the Aztec clay mask
Be aware, this paste will clog your drain if you make too much and try to dump it. I advise you throw it away in the trash instead.
I have very sensitive/oily skin and this mask did not break me out after my first, second, or third use. When reading previous reviews I though for sure I would see cystic acne or tons of pimples, but nope! This is not to say I do not get pimples ever, and did have some acne due to eating habits and period symptoms, but I can assume the mask did not lead to my acne after each use.
I get very oily in the summer, regardless if I am wearing makeup or not, and nothing works to control the oil production. The day after using the mask for the first time I did see noticeable oil control with no makeup on. Super happy with the results!
On the packaging it mentions that you can try apple cider vinegar instead of water when mixing. I passed on this as ACV is very temperamental for my skin and I did not want to risk a reaction. I use good ol’ water and my skin is happy and definitely notice the deep pore cleansing capabilities.
Overall really happy with this product and have added it to my routine. Big wins include oil control, deep pore cleansing, and works with my sensitive skin.
